Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
Written by aru on September 1, 2006 – 9:09 amThe Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is the third installment of the Prince of Persia series created by Jordan Mechner. The story began in The Sands of Time where the hero, simply referred as the Prince, created chaos by releasing the sands of time. In the second game, The Warrior Within, the Prince set out to undo the damages and chaos he had released. Since the series is supposed to be a trilogy, gamers should expect that The Two Thrones will see the Prince to finally fix all the damages for good.

This time the Prince has to save his kingdom.
In this game, the Prince returns home from the Isle of Time with Kaileena, the Empress of Time. All the joyous feeling of finally undone the damages he had unleashed from The Sands of Time is wrecked when he found his kingdom of Babylon is set on fire by the army of the Maharaja. Their ship is destroyed and the Prince once again found himself washed up ashore (as far as I can remember, having a shipwreck has always been a mandatory since the first Prince of Persia in 1991). Kaileena is taken by the enemies and now the Prince must go to save her (it would be interesting to have the Prince captured instead, and Kaileena takes the role of the saviour here, but heey..).

Saint Seiya: The Hades
Written by aru on August 20, 2006 – 8:27 pmSince I’m a big fan of the Saint Seiya anime series, I have no hesitation in purchasing this game. Although both I and w2n think that the anime will make a superb RPG game, Namco Bandai as its developer has decided to make a 3D fighting game instead.
Saint Seiya: The Hades is the follow up title to Saint Seiya: The Sanctuary released in 2005. In this game, player will have to battle against an army of Spectres who begin to claim back their powers after being held for 243 years by the might of Athena.

Enjoy the pics.

Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria : Screenshots
Written by aru on August 17, 2006 – 2:19 pmFinally, we post our first screenshot page. These pictures are taken from Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria, the second of Valkyrie Profile series from TriAce. As you can see the graphics are drop dead gorgeous, especially the female characters (ehmm…).
The bulk of these pictures were taken using Pinnacle PCTV card, the one with Phillips chipset. The later cropping, deinterlacing and resizing was done with VirtualDub filters. All hail VirtualDub, for doing batch cropping, resizing and deinterlacing is now a breeze.
OK now, enjoy the screenshots.

Copying PS2 saved games to PC
Written by aru on June 6, 2006 – 9:50 amEach PS2 console, both old and slim, provides two USB ports. You can plug any regular USB drive and copy the content of the memory card. All you need now is a special software.
There are several kind of softwares that let you copy your saved games to an USB drive, and vice versa. One of them is Datel’s MaxDrive. Datel’s official site asserts that you can only use MaxDrive with their special USB drive that comes inside MaxDrive package. But the truth is, we can use any ordinary USB drive, provided they are formatted the right way.
– update 02 Nov 2006 –
Someone has said that not all USB drives can be used as a replacement. I can’t verify this and I must admit that I can’t verify the opposite either. But at least I’ve tried with two USB drives, of SanDisk and Kingston. Since naturally manufacturers strive for compatibiliy, I have no reason to believe that other brands are somehow significantly different than the ones I tried.
— end of update –

Datel’s MaxDrive

Actually, any regular USB drive will do just fine
